I remember finding this video in my recommendations 5 years ago and it had maybe 100k views or something. I loved it so much I told my dad about it, then walked into the living room later to him watching it, so we watched it together haha. I completely forgot about this video until just now as it showed up in my recommendations again. Saved this time. This was ahead of its time and he adds such a great charm to the whole thing.

Wow i was just exploring the ocean on google earth, came across Tofua which led me to make a youtube search to see what it’s like and then i found this little series. Watched it all in one sitting and am absolutely amazed by your courage. Very well done. thank you for letting us enjoy this adventure.

Doing this alone made the challenge so much harder. Props to this guy, I get scared when wild camping, this dude survived an entire year on a tropical island in near-solitude.

Except for the lack of food, it reminded of me of the pandemic where I was basically alone for almost a year…I loved the solitude.
